On Saturday, March 17th Modista held their second annual MODIvation Conference at Kent State. We were able to bring together an elite group of industry professionals for Kent State students to learn from and network with. The theme behind this year's conference was diversity. Our aim was to diversify students' resumes, experience, and their thoughts on what is offered in the industry.
We invited locals Sean Bilovecky and Gwyn Strang from The Pattern Makers and Garment Makers in Cleveland; celebrity stylist Andrew Gelwicks; America's Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez; a New York fashion blogger and free lance stylist, Audree Lopez; Kent State alum Jenae Green who now works in Integrated Marketing and Special Events for Marie Claire; and trend forecaster and professor at Kent State, Connie Marsh.
We'd like to thank all of the speakers for taking the time to travel to Kent to share their knowledge with our students. We'd also like to give a special thanks to anyone who helped out in the process of putting this conference together. It's truly appreciated and wouldn't have been possible without you.
